 Minnesota's Sarah Anderson/Andrew Stopera (Photo: Jayson Ortiz) are on a roll in Kitchener-Waterloo at the Mixed Doubles Super Series, defeating Ontario's Kimberley Headley/Mike Aprile 11-5 to grab a perfect round-robin record. By Connor Simms, #24 World-Ranked Sarah Anderson/Andrew Stopera are kicking off their mixed doubles season in Kitchener-Waterloo at the Mixed Doubles Super Series. Anderson/Stopera are most known for their four-person play. Stopera plays second for Korey Dropkin's rink, and Anderson most recently played with Traverse City's Delaney Strouse last season but stepped back from the four-person game this past summer. Last season, this rink lost to Minnesota's Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin in the final of the USA Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials. With Thiesse/Dropkin's focus shifting towards the 2026 Olympics, Anderson/Stopera will concentrate on winning the USA Mixed Doubles Nationals to represent the USA at the 2026 World Championships. They are in Kitchener-Waterloo this week, competing in the Mixed Doubles Super Series. In their final round robin game, they took on Ontario's Kimberley Headley/Mike Aprile. Anderson/Stopera won the opening draw to the button for the hammer. Anderson/Stopera opened the scoring with a deuce in the first end. Headley/Aprile was forced in the second. Anderson/Stopera opened the game with four points in the third. Headley/Aprile responded with two in the fourth. Anderson/Stopera was forced to one in the fifth, while Headley/Stopera got two in the sixth. Anderson/Stopera forced handshakes with four more in the seventh end to grab an 11-5 win. In their opening game, they defeated Katie Ford/Oliver Campbell (Waterloo, ON) 8-6, then won 7-4 against Megan Smith/Dylan Niepage (Guelph, ON) and 10-0 against Riley Craig/Brendan Craig (Guelph, ON). They will now move on to the semi-final of the Super Series as the top team in pool B. The other team moving on in Pool B will be Smith/Niepage with a 3-1 record. Pool A is currently playing, and Anderon/Stopera will face the loser of Ontario's Kira Brunton/Victor Pietrangelo. Watch the games live on the CurlingZone YouTube page.
