![]() British Columbia's Taylor Reese-Hansen is on a roll at the Autumn Gold Curling Classic in Okotoks, Alberta, earning their spot in the A-qualifier game. By Connor Simms, #41 World-Ranked Taylor Reese-Hansen with Megan McGillivray at third, Kim Bonneau and Julianna Mackenzie on the front end, looking to gain some much-needed momentum this weekend in October. This is their third event of the 2025-2026 season. They missed the playoffs at the Saville Shootout, then the following weekend, they finished in the quarterfinals at the Saville Grand Prix. After a few weeks off, they are in Okotoks, Alberta, at the Autumn Gold Classic this weekend. This is a 28-team event with the triple knockout format. The prize purse for this event is $45,000. In their opening game, they defeated Alberta's Selena Sturmay (#38) 6-3. They then took on Switzerland's Silvana Tirinzoni (#2), beating them 7-2. This led to a match against Rebecca Morrison (#15) in their third game. Reese-Hansen won the opening draw to the button for the hammer. Reese-Hansen scored 1 in the first end, then forced Morrison to a single in the second. Morrison added a steal in the third, then forced Reese-Hansen to a single in the fourth. Morrison added steals in the fifth and sixth ends. Morrison scored 2 in the seventh end, Reese-Hansen responded with 2 in the eighth, winning 6-4. That would be their third win against teams ranked higher than them in the world rankings. A young team from Canada that won the U25 Nextgen Classic last season looks to boost the world rankings with a playoff appearance this weekend. In their next game, they will face Home province rival Corryn brown (#22) for a spot in the playoffs. The loser will have two more chances to qualify.
