Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-6 to Tanner Horgan (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in the Final of the DEKALB Superspiel, held November 1 - 4, 2019 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 5-3 over Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2019 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 5-4 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.
 
McEwen finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Luc Violette (Lake Stevens, WA) 9-3, then won 5-0 against Tyler Tardi (Surrey, BC) and 7-1 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 7-1 against Horgan to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the DEKALB Superspiel, McEwen take home 28.889 world rankings points along with the $5,700CDN prize. McEwen move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 3.146 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 12th overall with 283.608 total points on the World Ranking Standings. McEwen ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 103.404 points earned so far this season.
