Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) lost 7-6 to Kody Hartung (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the Red Deer Curling Classic, held November 16 - 19, 2018 in Red Deer, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Bottcher won 8-2 over Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2018 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 4-2 over Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Bottcher finished 4-0 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Hartung 8-3, then won 9-1 against Adam Norget (Edmonton, AB) and 6-4 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB). Bottcher won 6-4 against Brock Virtue (Kerrobert, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Red Deer Curling Classic, Bottcher take home 29.893 world rankings points along with the $7,000CDN prize, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.583 after improving upon their best so far this season. Bottcher ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 202.363 points earned so far this season.
