Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) lost 4-3 to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO) in the Final of the Boost National, held December 11 - 16, 2018 in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 6-5 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Boost National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador; and won 7-5 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the quarterfinals.
 
Mouat finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) 6-3, then won 7-1 against Paterson and 8-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Mouat won 6-5 against Gushue in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Boost National, Mouat take home 63.533 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN prize, remaining in 5th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 28.829 after improving upon their best so far this season. Mouat ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 290.618 points earned so far this season.
