Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-3 over Cathy King (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Red Deer Curling Classic, held November 2 - 5, 2012 in Red Deer, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Carey won 5-4 over Mirjam Ott (Davos, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2012 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 6-3 over Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Carey finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB) 7-6, then won 6-3 against Tanilla Doyle (Calgary, AB) and 6-5 against Marilou Richter (New Westminster, BC). Carey won 6-4 against Renee Sonnenberg (Grande Prairie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Red Deer Curling Classic Championship title, Carey earned 35.000 world rankings points along with the $9,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 8th place overall with 145.700 total points. Carey ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.000 points earned so far this season.
