New Forum Rule/Suggestion for Sarcasm
Hey everyone,
I know that people often post sarcastic remarks on here, and they usually get misconstrued as being serious comments. Please use italics to show your sarcasm, and it will help everyone have more civil conversations.
Click on the I (capital letter i) in the vbCode menu above when posting. A box will popup where you can type in your italisized text. Another way to do italics is to use the "[ i ] " and "[ /i ]" tags. Remove the spaces, and type your text between the tags.
Thanks, Gerry

As an addendum to what Gerry has posted above...
We have now opened The Pit with the purpose of providing a forum that allows a little more "freedom of expression", if ya know what I mean.
If you feel the urge to "let loose" a little, try to take it to The Pit.

Is there any way to permanently turn on italics for whenever I log in?

posting sarcastic curling remarks
Actually does not solve anything, except vent your frustrations that a certain curling team you have been following has not lived up to your exceptions , well too bad thats life.

Well, this should get fun. I tend to use italics to add speech inflection to my posts. It should be interesting to see if it gets confused for sarcasm. ;-)
But understood. On another chat site I frequent, we have a sarcasm font, and it works very well. Adds a lot of color to the commentary, so I'm fully in favor of this effort.

Ontario Junior Mens
Looks like the OCA has boxed themselves in again with the junior mens playdowns. Instead of running 2 games on Wednesday they have now a totally screwed up the playoff with the potential of someone having to play 4 10 end games in a day! I was under the impression that the rules would not allow that?

We need a special section for sexist remarks on this site.
You could shove half of Manitoba Legend's posts in there and reduce his noise level to a more normal level as well.
I must admit it is nostalgic though, gives us a better feel for what life was like in the 1950s.

the other half can go in a special section for self-professed pundits - of course this section will be an elite, members only area.
i will miss the condescending nicknames though. they make an already haughty writing style even more enjoying to read.

LOL. Bud, you posted in an existing thread that dealt with sarcasm.
At the bottom of this page just press New Thread and make your post. It will show up in the Rock Talk forum.
