 Calgary's Kayla Skrlik opened with a 10-1 win over Edmonton's Gabby Wood at the Curling Stadium Alberta Tour Kick-off in Leduc. Skrlik with Brittany Tran at third, Geri-Lynn Ramsay and Ashton Skrlik on the front end come into the 2023-24 season carrying a target on their backs as the reigning Alberta Scotties champions, and looking to build upon last season's success. Kayla herself is doubling as co-organizer with Jeremy Harty in making the first event of the year happened, helping to ensure the event happened. Starting with hammer, Skrlik scored 2 in the first end, then forced Wood to a single in the second end. Skrlik scored 3 in the third end, then added a steals in the fourth and fifth ends, then stole 3 more in the sixth end for the 10-1 win. In their next game, Skrlik plays Kellie Stiksma (Edmonton, AB) on Saturday at 12pm and Abby Marks (Edmonton, AB) at 4pm. |
