USA's Strouse Opening in Scotland

Delaney Strouse (Photo: Bob Weder, USA Curling) of Traverse City, Michigan, will head overseas to start their season at the Euro Super Series in August.

Strouse, with Anne O'Hara at third and Sydney Mullaney and Rebecca Rodgers on the front end, look to follow up last year's breakout season with a fast start to improve their 28th ranking on the World Curling Federation World Team Rankings.

32 teams will qualify for the first Grand Slam event of the 2023/24 season, with the Tour Challenge taking place in Niagara Falls, Ontario in October, where a Tier 1 and Tier 2 competition will occur. The cut-off for qualifying for the two Slam events will take place on September 18th, with the seeding of the top 32 teams off the WCF World Rankings into the two events taking place the following week.

In their opening game, Strouse plays Scotland's Lucy Blair on Thursday, August 17th at 1:30 pm local time (8:30 am ET), then plays Norway's Marianne Roervik on Friday at 9 am local (4 am ET) and Emira Abbes Germany at 6 pm local (1 pm ET). Strouse finishes the round-robin against Scotland's Rebecca Morrison on Saturday at 1:30 pm local time (8:30 am ET).

Italy's Stefania Constantini and Switzerland's Michele Jaeggi will take on Scottish sides skipped by Fay Henderson, Robyn Munro and Tia Laurie.

Strouse had a busy season in their first year out of Junior competition, a career highlighted by a bronze medal at the 2022 World Junior Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden. Strouse reached the final of the CURVE US Open Championships in September, reaching the semifinals at the Curling Stadium Contender Series and four quarterfinals appearances to climb the rankings.

Strouse headed to Lake Placid for the World University Games, where the team won the bronze medal, taking the final game 7-3 over Henderson's former junior team, representing Great Britain.

Strouse then capped off their season with a runner-up finish at the USA Curling National Championships, dropping the final to Tabitha Peterson.

Traverse City is the latest place in the United States to build a new dedicated curling facility, adding 6 sheets to the ever-growing curling infrastructure, and with Strouse growing up in nearby Midland, it became a natural fit to represent the new club. The Traverse City Curling Club also features a new Curling Stadium set up, debuting during the Cherry Bombspiel in April.
