![]() Alberta's Brad Jacobs (Photo: Grand Slam of Curling) defeated Saskatchewan's Rylan Kleiter to win their opening match at the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario. By Connor Simms, #3 World-Ranked Brad Jacobs, with Marc Kennedy at third, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert on the front end, continue their early-season dominance. Jacobs has only played one event, where they went a perfect 6-0 to win the ATB Okotoks Classic title a few weeks ago. This week, they are at the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario. Last season, at the Masters, Jacobs lost in the final against Scotland's Ross Whyte. In their opening game, they took on Saskatchewan's Rylan Kleiter. Jacobs won the opening draw to the button for the hammer. In the first end, Jaocbs found their deuce, drawing to the eight-foot. In the second end, Kleiter made a beautiful slash double on his first, setting them up for a lightweight takeout for their deuce. Jacobs bounced right back with three points in the third end, making a hit and stick. After a blank in the fourth end, Kleiter once again brought multiple points, making a runback for their deuce to make it 5-4. Jacobs remained perfect with the hammer, adding three more points, making the draw to the eight-foot. Kleiter had an opportunity for two in the seventh end, coming up wide, resulting in a steal of one and the 9-4 victory for Jacobs. In their next game, Jacobs will take on Northern Ontario's John Epping at 5:30 pm Mountain Time (MT) on Wednesday. On Thursday, they will have a rematch of last year's Masters final with Scotland's Ross Whyte at 5:30 pm MT. They will wrap up the round robin on Friday with a crossover game. The game will be determined by the results of the first three games. Watch all the games live of the Grand Slam of Curling on the Rock Channel.
