Carruthers was 6-2 in round robin, starting with a 4-0 start with wins over British Columbia's Cameron de Jong 6-5, Newfoundland and Labrador's Ty Dilello 14-4, Alberta's Kevin Koe 5-4 and New Brunswick's James Grattan 6-4. They suffered their first loss of the event to Canada's Brad Gushue 3-7. They then bounced back with wins over Northern Ontario's John Epping 8-6 and Nunavut's Shane Latimer 7-3. Losing their last round robin game 6-8 to Manitoba's Matt Dunstone, and then defeating Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen in the 3-4 page qualifier. Starting round robin with a win over Yukon's Thomas Scoffin 10-3, then broke the record with a 20-2 victory over Northwest Territories Aaron Bartling. They defeated Prince Edward Island's Tyler Smith 10-3, and Saskatchewan's Rylan Kleiter 6-3. They continued their winning streak with wins over Nova Scotia's Owen Purcell 7-3 and Ontario's Sam Mooibroek 11-5. On the final day of round robin they defeated Quebec's Felix Asselin 6-4 and Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen 7-6. Losing their first game in the 1-2 page qualifier to Canada's Brad Gushue. Then defeating Purcell in a 3-4 page qualifier game. This is Jacobs and Carruthers' first meeting this season. Jacobs will start the game with a hammer due to their undefeated round robin record. The winner will face the 1-1 playoff game loser between Manitoba's Matt Dunstone and Canada's Brad Gushue. The loser will be eliminated. |
