Homan Goes Perfect Through Scotties
![]() A perfect game caps off an undefeated week for Ottawa's Rachel Homan. Homan, with Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes continue to dominate the women's game, winning their 22nd straight Scotties game and improving to 56-4 on the season. "My team, unbelievable, " Homan told Bryan Mudryk of TSN following the game. "They stuck with it." "We had some misses, but we pulled together. Huge sweeps, huge line calls when we needed it." "Just unbelievable performance by my team." Homan blanked the opening end, then scored a single in the second end. After Einarson blanked the third end, they got on the scoreboard in the fourth end, hitting against three Homan counters to score. Homan made a hit and stick to score a single point in the fifth end to lead 2-1 at the game's halfway point. "Einarson were making everything, " continued Homan. "We had to make some big shots there to get some blanks and a force." "Thankfully, we were able to make enough." Homan kept the pressure on with the dam finally breaking in the seventh end. Homan made a hit and roll buried with her last rock forcing Einarson into a draw for the button. Einarson slide heavy giving Homan the steal. In the eighth end, Einarson continued to struggle with her draw weight, this time coming light on a draw against two Homan counters. The steal put Homan up 5-1, who then stole another point in the ninth end, resulting in handshakes from Einarson. Homan, when asked about what has made them so strong during their historic run over the last two seasons, she said: "Resilience." "Resilience hit it right on the head." "We stayed tough in so many games that could have gone either way." Next up for Homan is the World Women's Championships in South Korea. "I can't wait to go represent Canada, this is an unbelievable feeling." |
