Dunstone Slides to 2-0 at AMJ Masters
![]() Manitoba's Matt Dunstone (Photo: Grand Slam of Curling) defeated Norway's Magnus Ramsfjell 6-3 to move to a 2-0 record at the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario. By Connor Simms, #5 World-Ranked Matt Dunstone, with Colton Lott at third, E.J. Harnden and Ryan Harnden on the front end, look to bounce back after a rough first event of the season. They were in the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic last weekend. They went 2-3, missing the playoffs. This weekend, they are at the AMJ Masters. Last season at the Masters, they went 4-0 through the round robin, ultimately losing the semi-final to Scotland's Ross Whyte. In their second game, they took on Norway's Magnus Ramfjell. Dunstone won the opening draw to the button for the hammer. In the first end, Dusntone flashed on his first leading to them being forced to one. Dunstone took an early lead with a steal of three, after Ramfjell rolled too far on a runback. In the third end, Ramsfjell was forced to their single point, making a draw to the eight-foot. Dunstone elected to take their single point, making the draw to the eight-foot. In the fifth end, Ramfjell was unable to generate a deuce, ultimately settling for their single point with a draw to the four-foot. Ramsfjell put a nice draw on his last, and Dunstone was unable to remove it, resulting in a steal of one. Dunstone got back on the board with a single point in the seventh end, making the hit and stick. Dunstone ultimately ran Ramsfjell out of stones to take the 6-3 victory. In their opening game, they defeated Minnesota's Korey Dropkin 6-4. Their next game will be against Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen (1-1) at 7:30 pm Eastern Time (ET) on Thursday. Their final round robin game will take place on Friday in the crossover game, which is still to be determined. In other draw 7 action, Ontario's Rachel Homan (2-0) defeated Sweden's Isabella Wrana (0-2) 6-5, Korea's Gim Eun Ji (2-0) defeated Nova Scotia's Christina Black (1-1) 7-2 and Italy's Joel Retornaz (2-0) defeated Switzerland's Yannick Schwaller (0-2) 8-6 Watch all the games live of the Grand Slam of Curling on the Rock Channel.
