 Alberta's Kayla Skrlik defeated Ontario's Danielle Inglis 9-8 to move onto the top 4 in Thunder Bay. By: Meredith McCullum Skrlik, with Margot Flemming, Ashton Skrlik and Geri-Lynn Ramsay, gave up 2 to start the game but bounced back with a deuce in the second end to tie it up. The teams traded points in the third and fourth and Skrlik picked up another deuce in the fifth to go up 5-3 half way through. Skrlik's Calgary based rink stole another point to kick off the second half, then forced one in the seventh. A huge score of 3 by Skrlik broke the game open in 8, making the score 9-4. Inglis attempted a comeback with a deuce in the ninth to make it a 3 point game. On Skrlik's final shot in the tenth, she faced three rocks but they were all wide open and she needed to eliminate one yellow stone to secure the win. She hit and rolled to the 12-foot, enough to win the game 9-8 and move on to the next playoff game. Skrlik will move on to face Nova Scotia's Christina Black in the Page 3v4 playoff game Saturday afternoon at 1pm Eastern Time. The winner of the game will move onto the semifinal where they face the loser of the 1v2 Page Playoff between Rachel Homan and Kerri Einarson. |
