Five in a Row!
![]() Gimli's Kerri Einarson won 7-4 over Calgary's Kayla Skrlik to advance to Saturday's Page 1v2 game. Einarson, with Val Sweeting, Karlee Burgess and Krysten Karwacki continue their hot streak, riding five straight wins into top page game, where they will meet Team Canada - skipped by Ottawa's Rachel Homan. Einarson had the choice of rocks as the top seed in Pool B, but with identical records, the teams had to draw for hammer. Einarson's combined total of 17.2 cms won hammer, used to blank the opening end. Einarson scored two points in the second end to take the lead, which they would never relinquish. Einarson stole a point in the fourth end to extend the lead to three, with Skrlik getting on the scoreboard with two points in the fifth end. Einarson and Skrlik traded singles in the sixth and seventh ends, going on to hold a one-point lead and hammering into the ninth end. Einarson blew open the game with three points in the ninth end, with Skrlik adding a single in the tenth end. The winner of the Page 1v2 game advances directly to Sunday's final, while the losing team will get one more chance in the semifinal. Skrlik drops into the Page 3v4 qualifier, where they will play Ontario's Danielle Inglis on Friday evening for a spot in the final four. Nova Scotia's Christina Black and Corryn Brown of British Columbia will also play for a spot in the final four. Winners of Friday's qualifying games will advance to Saturday's Page 3v4 game, where the winner of that game will advance to the semifinal. |
