 Ottawa's Rachel Homan heads into the final round-robin draw with 1st place overall locked up. Homan, with Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes, improved to 7-0 on Wednesday evening with a 9-3 win over Julia Weagle of Nunavut. Earlier on Wednesday, Homan had clinched the top-seed playoff berth out of Pool A with a 7-5 win over Corryn Brown of British Columbia. In the playoff round, Homan will face the 2nd-seeded team from Pool B at 1 pm Eastern Time on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the Page 1v1 game. The top seed in Pool B will play the second seed in Pool A for the second spot in the Page 1v1 game. Brown and Alberta's Kayla Skrlik sit tied for second place in Pool A, with one draw remaining, Skrlik holding the head-to-head advantage due to their 9-8 win over Brown earlier in the week. Skrlik finishes round-robin play against Weagle, while Brown plays PEI's Jane DiCarlo in their final game. Homan finishes against Alberta's Selena Sturmay in their final round-robin game. |
