St-Georges 'In the Clubhouse' at 5-3
![]() Quebec's Laurie St-Georges is now playing the waiting game with a final round bye. St- Georges and her team of Jamie Sinclair, Emily Riley and Lisa Weagle currently sit fourth overall in Pool B, though several matches in the final draw have the potential to bring the field back to them. St-Georges' Last Stone Draw (LSD) total of 386.8 cm is better than all three teams ahead of them in the standings. Black (5-2) plays Manitoba's Kate Cameron (4-3), and Kerri Einarson (5-2) plays Kaitlyn Lawes (4-3) in an all-Manitoba battle. Lawes has the best shootout score of all teams in the field, with a combined total of 165.3 cm and one game to count. St-Georges had a chance to clinch a playoff spot on Thursday morning, though they dropped a 7-6 decision against Black. Black stole singles in the first and second ends, with St-Georges scoring three in the third end to jump into the lead. Black scored two points in the fourth end to retake the lead. After the teams traded singles in the fifth and sixth ends, St-Georges blanked the seventh end and then scored two points in the eighth to retake the lead. Black was forced to a single in the ninth end, leaving St-Georges with the hammer in the final end. St-Georges was unable to execute their last shot, giving Black the steal for the win. Ontario's Danielle Inglis (5-2) plays Kerri Galusha (3-4) in the final round-robin draw. |
