Alex Champ (Toronto, ON) won 6-5 over Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI) in the Final of the KW Fall Classic, held September 14 - 17 at the K-W Granite Club in Waterloo, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Champ won 7-3 over Ian Dickie (Kitchener, ON) in the semifinals of the KW Fall Classic in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-7 over James Craik (Forfar, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
Champ finished 3-2 in the 19-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Champ defeated Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON) 8-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Craik. Champ lost 6-4 to Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) where Champ responded with a 8-1 win over Jordan McNamara (Ottawa, ON). Champ won 8-5 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the KW Fall Classic Championship title, Champ earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $3,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 47th place overall with 84.079 total points. Champ ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 24.188 points earned so far this season.
