Gunnlaugson went on to lose 7-6 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Gunnlaugson lost 9-7 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Gunnlaugson lost 8-4 to Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Gunnlaugson earned 10.123 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
