Sarah Mallais (New Brunswick) qualified for the 2019 Jim Sullivan Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-4 against Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR).
Mallais finished 2-2 in the 15 team Jim Sullivan Curling Classic qualifying round, held December 6 - 8, 2019 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. In their opening game, Mallais defeated Ma Yun Yan (Beijing, CHN) 9-4, then went on to lose 8-1 against Gim. Mallais responded with a 7-6 win over Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI). Mallais went on to lose 12-5 against Justine Comeau (New Brunswick) in their final qualifying round match.
Mallais earned 7.738 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Jim Sullivan Curling Classic. For week 20 of the event schedule, Mallais did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mallais ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
