Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) lost 8-6 to Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE) in the Final of the International ZO Womens Tournament, held November 9 - 11, 2018 in Wetzikon, Switzerland. To advance to the championship game, Kovaleva won 4-1 over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) in the semifinals of the 2018 International ZO Womens Tournament in Wetzikon, Switzerland; and won 5-4 over Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS) in the quarterfinals.
 
Kovaleva finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kovaleva defeated Iveta Stasa-Sarsune (Riga, LAT) 4-3, then won 8-2 against Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO) and 5-4 against Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI). Kovaleva won 10-1 against Raphaela Keiser (Flims, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
