In their opening game, Reese-Hansen lost 6-3 to Karla Thompson (Kamloops/Vancouver, BC), then responded with a 7-2 win over Chiaki Matsumura (Nagano, JPN). Reese-Hansen went on to lose 6-2 against Janais DeJong (Sexsmith , AB). Reese-Hansen responded with a 8-3 win over Kesa Van Osch (Parksville, BC). Reese-Hansen went on to lose 6-2 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Reese-Hansen earned 3.988 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 184th place overall with 6.087 total points. Reese-Hansen ranks 107th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.988 points earned so far this season.
