To advance to the championship game, Homan won 4-2 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 Canad Inns Women's Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada; and won 7-2 over Shannon Birchard (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Canad Inns Women's Classic in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Homan finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan lost 6-5 to Jie Mei (Harbin, CHN), then responded with a 5-3 win over Cory Christensen (Blaine, USA). Homan won 9-7 against Jacqueline Harrison (Mississauga, ON), then won 8-0 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) and 5-4 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Zurich, SUI). Homan won 7-3 against Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canad Inns Women's Classic Championship title, Homan earned 74.715 world rankings points along with the $15,500CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 703.833 total points. Homan ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 120.125 points earned so far this season.
