Sluchinski lost 7-4 to Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) where Sluchinski responded with a 8-2 win over Lowell Peterman (Red Deer, AB). Sluchinski went on to lose 5-4 against Eckstrand in their final qualifying round match.
