Gushue finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Ian Fitzner-Leblanc (Halifax, NS) 7-5, then won 5-2 against Mike Harris (Oakville, ON). Gushue went on to lose 7-3 against Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau/Levis, PQ). Gushue responded with a 7-1 win over Brett Gallant (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 6.720 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy, remaining in 14th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 107.048 total points. Gushue ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 47.320 points earned so far this season.
