In their opening game, Charette lost 7-4 to Saskatchewan's Jeff Hartung, then responded with a 9-8 win over Norway's Pal Trulsen. Charette went on to lose 9-7 against British Columbia's Jay Peachey. Charette lost 7-1 to British Columbia's Greg McAulay in their final qualifying round match.
