Elizabeth Cousins (Nashua, NH) lost 7-6 to Tabitha Peterson (St. Paul, MN) in the Final of the USA Curling National Championships, held January 27 - February 2, 2025 in Duluth, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Cousins won 6-5 over Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND) in the semifinals of the 2025 USA Curling National Championships in Duluth, Minnesota;
Cousins finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cousins defeated Courtney Benson (Duluth, MN) 7-6, then went on to lose 14-4 against Peterson. Cousins lost 14-6 to McMakin where Cousins responded with a 11-1 win over Allory Johnson (Blaine, MN). Cousins won 11-6 against Delaney Strouse (Traverse City, MI), then won 7-4 against Kim Rhyme (Minneapolis, MN) and 10-8 against Allie Giroux (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the USA Curling National Championships, Cousins take home 24.750 world rankings points. Cousins move up 23 spots after posting a net gain of 16.344 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 38th overall with 71.000 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Cousins ranks 38th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 71.000 points earned so far this season.
