Galusha to return to Scotties with daughter
![]() Kerry Galusha (Photo: Team Galusha) will make a record twenty-second appearance at the national championship with a lineup that includes former teammates and her daughter. By: Cameron Sallaj Despite stepping back from competitive play at the end of the 2023-24 season, Kerry Galusha is ready for another trip to the Hearts after winning a 21st Territorial championship over the weekend in Yellowknife. With former teammates Megan Koehler and Shona Barbour and her daughter Sydney Galusha, Galusha won 3-1 over Betti Delorey in a best-of-five series, earning the right to represent NWT once again on the national stage. Game 1 saw a tough start for the Galusha rink who gave up six stolen points to begin the match, ultimately conceding to Delorey 11-6. They then rebounded in game two by beating the Hay River squad by the same score. In the third game, Galusha led 10-2 at the break and went on to win 11-4, putting them just one game shy of clinching the title. They then shut out Delorey 12-0 in the final game to secure the territorial title. The 2025 Hearts will be the first appearance at a Canadian women's championship for Kerry's daughter Sydney who skipped NWT to a 2-6 record at last season's Canadian U-21 Championship. Eighteen teams will compete in the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, scheduled to take place February 14 to 23 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Northern Ontario. The winning team will represent Canada at the 2025 World Women's Curling Championship in Uijeongbu, South Korea from March 15 to 23, 2025. |
