John Shuster (Duluth , MN) lost 5-2 to Bruce Mouat (STIRLING, SCO) in the Final of the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 14 - 17, 2024 at the Curl Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Shuster won 6-5 over Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2024 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland, Scotland; and won 7-3 over James Craik (Forfar, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland, Scotland;

Shuster finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) 8-2, then won 5-2 against Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT) and 7-4 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Shuster went on to lose 8-6 against Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN). Shuster responded with a 7-4 win over Xueqing Fei (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, Shuster take home 30.250 world rankings points along with the $2,584CDN prize. Shuster move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 22.75 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 15th overall with 171.750 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
