Laurie St-Georges (Montreal, QC) won 7-5 over Tanya Hilliard (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Bogside Cup, held December 8 - 10, 2023 at the Montague Curling Club in Montague, Canada. To advance to the championship game, St-Georges won 9-2 over Sophie Blades (Summerside/Cornwall, PEI) in the semifinals of the 2023 Bogside Cup in Montague, Prince Edward Island, Canada; and won 8-1 over Jane DiCarlo (Crapaud, PEI) in the quarterfinals.
St-Georges finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, St-Georges defeated Sydney Carver (Montague, PEI) 9-3, then won 8-6 against Amanda Power (Crapaud, PEI) and 7-2 against Hilliard. St-Georges won 7-2 against Tammy Dewar (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Bogside Cup Championship title, St-Georges earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 49th place overall with 64.844 total points. St-Georges ranks 45th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 51.813 points earned so far this season.
