In their opening game, Hackner lost 8-6 to Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON), droppimg another game, 8-5 to Glen MacLeod (Windsor, NS). Hackner lost 8-4 to Francois Roberge (Levis, QC) where Hackner responded with a 6-5 win over Terry Miller (Whitehorse, YK). Hackner won 8-3 against Peter Mackey (Iqaluit, NU). Hackner went on to lose 8-7 against Wes Craig (Nanaimo, BC). Hackner responded with a 7-2 win over Glen Hudy (Yellowknife, NT). Hackner went on to lose 8-1 against Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL). Hackner responded with a 9-2 win over Phil Gorveatt (Montague, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

Hackner ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
