Kitazawa finished 4-1 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Elysa Crough (Edmonton, AB) 8-6, then won 8-5 against Keiser. Kitazawa went on to lose 7-3 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Kitazawa responded with a 6-0 win over Jessie Hunkin (Spruce Grove, AB). Kitazawa won 7-4 against Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Curling Stadium Alberta Curling Series Major Championship title, Kitazawa earned 33.750 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN first prize cheque. Kitazawa move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 23.125 points improving upon their best 2 results so far this season, ranking 22nd overall with 102.330 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
