To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 8-2 over Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2021 Alberta Curling Series: Leduc in Leduc, Alberta;

Sturmay finished 4-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Nathan Molberg (St. Albert, AB) 8-3, then won 2-1 against Michael Dahms (Airdrie, AB) and 6-5 against Rob Maksymetz (Grande Prairie, AB).
