Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) won 6-5 over Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR) in the Final of the Vesta Energy Red Deer Curling Classic, held November 19 - 22, 2021 in Red Deer, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Fujisawa won 6-2 over Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2021 Vesta Energy Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 6-5 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) in the quarterfinals.
Fujisawa finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa defeated Brett Barber (Biggar, SK) 7-4, then won 5-4 against Rebecca Morrison (GB, GBR) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 5-4 against Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg , SWE) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Vesta Energy Red Deer Curling Classic Championship title, Fujisawa earned 49.388 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque. Fujisawa move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 44.933 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 4th overall with 290.377 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Fujisawa ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 118.941 points earned so far this season.
