Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) won 7-6 over Korey Dropkin (Chaska, USA) in the Final of the China Open, held December 13 - 17, 2019 in Tianjin, China. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 6-3 over Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN) in the semifinals
 
Kim finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE) 9-1, then won 8-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) and 6-5 against Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI). Kim won 7-4 against Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS), then won 6-2 against Zou and 7-6 against Dropkin. Kim went on to lose 7-3 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the China Open Championship title, Kim earned 34.805 world rankings points along with the $8,122CDN first prize cheque. Kim move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 28.886 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 25th overall with 187.953 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Kim ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 164.279 points earned so far this season.
