John Shuster (Duluth, USA) lost 7-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the WCT Uiseong International Curling Cup, held September 30 - October 3, 2019 in Uiseong, Korea. To advance to the championship game, Shuster won 7-3 over Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) in the semifinals of the 2019 WCT Uiseong International Curling Cup in Uiseong, Korea;
 
Shuster finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene , ON) 5-3, then won 8-4 against Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Shuster went on to lose 4-2 against McEwen. Shuster responded with a 6-1 win over Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the WCT Uiseong International Curling Cup, Shuster take home 35.125 world rankings points along with the $16,652CDN prize, remaining in 14th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 6.978 after improving upon their best so far this season. Shuster ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 42.237 points earned so far this season.
