Luke Carson (Stirling, SCO) finished 1-3 in the 15 team Dumfries Challenger Series qualifying round, held December 12 - 15 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland. In their opening game, Carson lost 6-3 to Jan Hess (Zug, SUI), droppimg another game, 8-3 to Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) where Carson responded with a 5-4 win over Cameron McNay (Dumfries, SCO). Carson went on to lose 9-7 against Hamish Gallacher (Dumfries, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Carson earned 1.165 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 153rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -0.785 after improving upon their best so far this season. Carson ranks 163rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.918 points earned so far this season.
