Hara went on to lose 5-5 against Sari Kanbayashi (Kitami, JPN). Hara responded with a 11-1 win over Minori Kakuhara (Obihiro, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Obihiro ICE Gold Cup, Hara take home 6.543 world rankings points along with the $3,610CDN prize, moving up 59 spots the World Ranking Standings into 164th place overall with 8.690 total points. Hara ranks 54th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.554 points earned so far this season.
