Gushue responded with a 7-6 win over Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Nagano, JPN) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 7-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 33.216 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, remaining in 9th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -0.47700000000003 after improving upon their best so far this season.
