Oakville Fall Classic qualifying round, held August 30 - September 2, 2018 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Canada. In their opening game, Whyte lost 8-2 to Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI), droppimg another game, 9-6 to Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) where Whyte responded with a 6-2 win over Steve Holdaway (Montreal, QC). Whyte went on to lose 5-4 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Strathroy, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Whyte earned 2.102 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 70th place overall with 48.710 total points. Whyte ranks 45th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.102 points earned so far this season.
