Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) won 5-3 over Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, held November 24 - 26, 2017 at the Abbotsford Curling Club in Abbotsford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Montgomery won 6-4 over Brent Pierce (New Westminster , BC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 6-5 over Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;

Montgomery finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Montgomery defeated British Columbia's Neil Dangerfield 7-6, then went on to lose 8-2 against Joanisse. Montgomery responded with a 7-4 win over Mark Longworth (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel Championship title, Montgomery earned 19.746 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 178 spots the World Ranking Standings into 157th place overall with 24.463 total points. Montgomery ranks 110th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.746 points earned so far this season.
