In their opening game, Baier lost 8-3 to Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC), droppimg another game, 8-3 to Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) where Baier responded with a 4-1 win over Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC). Baier won 5-4 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Baier went on to lose 6-2 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Baier earned 2.353 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 217th place overall with 11.29 total points. Baier ranks 193rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.504 points earned so far this season.
