In their opening game, Thompson lost 6-3 to Grattan, then responded with a 7-2 win over Alex Robichaud (Moncton, NB). Thompson won 7-1 against Terry Odishaw (Moncton, NB), then won 9-8 against Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB) and 7-3 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
