Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) run at the Westjet Players' Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-1 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB).

In their opening game, Gushue defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 7-2, then won 6-4 against John Morris (Vernon, BC) and 7-5 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue lost their next game 6-4 to McEwen. Gushue lost 4-2 to Koe in their final qualifying round match.
