Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) won 5-4 over Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held September 29 - October 2, 2022 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Brown won 7-5 over Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR) to advance to the championship game. of the 2022 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; of the 2022 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
Brown finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown defeated Lisa Parent (Calgary, AB) 10-3, then won 7-6 against Kitazawa and 8-0 against Shiella Cowan (New Westminister, BC). Brown went on to lose 9-4 against Sarah Wark (Abbotsford, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Brown earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. Brown move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 24.937 points improving upon their best 2 results so far this season, ranking 26th overall with 105.315 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Brown ranks 24th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.313 points earned so far this season.
