Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) won 5-4 over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 4 - 7, 2023 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 8-2 over Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2023 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 6-2 over Kyle Waddell (Glasgow, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland;
Mouat finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) 7-3, then won 8-3 against Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) and 8-6 against Andreas Harstad (Oppdal, NOR). Mouat won 7-5 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED), then won 8-5 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Mercure Perth Masters Championship title, Mouat earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $11,400CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -16.88 after improving upon their best so far this season. Mouat ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 216.250 points earned so far this season.
