Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) won 7-2 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 2 - 5, 2020 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 5-2 over Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2020 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 6-0 over Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland;
Mouat finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Simon Gempeler (Adelboden, SUI) 7-1, then won 5-3 against Czech Republic's David Sik and 7-4 against Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS). Mouat won 5-3 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO), then won 7-0 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oppdal, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Mercure Perth Masters Championship title, Mouat earned 52.603 world rankings points along with the $12,045CDN first prize cheque. Mouat move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 39.595 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 4th overall with 409.495 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mouat ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 296.095 points earned so far this season.
