Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) won 7-4 over Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 4 - 7, 2018 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 7-2 over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2018 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 8-4 over Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) in the quarterfinals.
 
Edin finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) 11-1, then won 7-6 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) and 6-5 against Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE). Edin won 4-2 against Ulsrud in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Mercure Perth Masters Championship title, Edin earned 48.166 world rankings points along with the $10,954CDN first prize cheque. Edin move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 46.577 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 1st overall with 911.205 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Edin ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 372.449 points earned so far this season.
