Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) lost 9-4 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) in the Final of the Boost National, held November 14 - 19, 2017 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 8-7 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Boost National in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario; and won 6-2 over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Boost National in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario;
Kim finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Carruthers 7-3, then won 8-1 against Pat Simmons (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-1 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Kim went on to lose 4-1 against Epping in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Boost National, Kim take home 58.961 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN prize. Kim move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 57.452 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 23rd overall with 268.57 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
