Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 8-4 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the Final of the Masters of Curling, held October 24 - 29, 2017 in Lloydminster, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 7-1 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Masters of Curling in Lloydminster, Alberta; and won 8-3 over Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Masters of Curling in Lloydminster, Alberta;
 
Gushue finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) 7-6, then won 9-7 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA) and 5-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue won 6-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Masters of Curling Championship title, Gushue earned 84.142 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 12 of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
